Learning Resources® Highlights Science Toys at Toy Fair
NEW YORK, Toy Fair; February 9, 2007 — Schools will begin administering No Child Left Behind-mandated science assessment tests annually beginning with the 2007–08 school year. To help parents prepare their children for these tests, Learning Resources®, a leading manufacturer of educational toys, is introducing a number of science toys at this year’s American International Toy Fair.
“Science knowledge is cumulative, and is built on what we already know,” said Carl Benoit, editorial director at Learning Resources and a former science teacher. “For this reason, it’s important that children start building their science background knowledge early. Parents can help by encouraging questions and helping their children appreciate the value of science.”
Among the new science toys Learning Resources is introducing are:
Spill Your Guts™ Human Body Game, Ages 7+, retail price: $26.95
Kid surgeons try to assemble all the patient’s organs — without spilling his guts.
Solar System Foam Floor Puzzle, Ages 4+, retail price: $24.95
Detailed artwork captures the wonder of space on this 3'L x 2'H floor puzzle. Planets are labeled on the reverse side.
Inflatable Parts of a Skeleton, Ages 4+, retail price: $26.95
