Comments about Birthday Pocket Chart:
We use this in our preschool setting as an alternative to the home made birthday displays we've made in the past. It's well worth the money because it's saved so much time and is really easy to keep updated. Lots of parents commented on how nice it looked and the children quickly grasped its purpose. It's really well made and a pleasure to use. We have more children than cakes but got around this by photocopying some.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have put the hanging on a display board in our dark corridor, as i found it too bright and busy for the Reception Class environment. It is a great idea that children can write on the cakes themselves and that they are re-usable- however, some children had difficulty fitting their name on the cake as their writing was bigger than others! The children love to look at the cakes and see when their birthday is, who has a birthday near them, what month we are in, who's birthday is next....The first day it was up...one child moved all the cakes! which did make us chuckle as the cakes only had the child's name and a small number on them so we had to work together and sort them out! Useful to develop maths and communication skills and also for children to value themselves as they discuss their special day.
Pocket's full of fun!

About Me Education Oriented, Nursery Manger
We were given this birthday chart to use in our setting and then asked to review its use. Overall we liked this product . It's great for maths concepts eg which months have more birthdays, who is next , who is first etc . We also really liked that the children can add their individual comments which helps to celebrate their special day . We found that the children's names rubbed off when put into the pockets so they weren't clear to read, and we found the chart too busy - too bright , too may colours , just too much going on . We prefer muted tones and less clutter in this setting , but I must stress that this only our opinion - I know that many other nurseries like bright colours

About Me Working Parent
What a fantastic resource. I gave this gift I won to my daughters nursery who will let me know what they think of it. My daughter was immediately drawn to it and couldn't wait to try it out. She liked using it as a bar chart. My daughter wanted to keep it for home but I thought her nursery would put it to better use as there are more children. They said they would have to look at the learning resource products as I have previously recommended these products. I will ask them to write their own review of it but a review from me is that it is a durable and a fun learning resource.
Fabulous colourful birthday chart
What a fantastic resource. The class were immediately attracted to it because it is so bright and colourful. We used this linked to our learning about time, learning about months of the year, seasons etcs. We then collected information using tallies for how many birthdays in each month and also made a bar chart to show this info. We haven't had a class birthday yet but the children are really looking forward to writing info about themselves to share with the class. A really good resource with many uses. This was given free to me as a trial but I would recommend it to other teachers and would buy it myself.
Great, colourful visual product

All of the children wrote their name on a cake and put it into the appropriate birthday month so that we could see easily which month had the most, least etc. The younger children could have done with more space on the cake to write. It led to a lot of mathematical language and birthday conversations.

It's so colourful and eye ...
By Practical Pre-School Awards
It's so colourful and eye catching, it is extremely well presented. It is appealing to all children and suitable for all age ranges. It helps with mathematical skills as the children were ordering numbers and working out the sequence of birthdays. It encouraged social and emotional development because it helped each child to feel valued and feel special when celebrating their birthday. It also allows children to further their knowledge and understanding of the world, and learn about seasons and months.
