Comments about Design & Drill® Activity Centre:
We were sent this item for review and I have been highly impressed with it in many ways. My children have played with it non-stop. They have really engaged with the toy and you can see the concentration on my 3yr old's face as he counts the spaces, so he knows where to put the next bolt. My 6 yr old has been more creative with it trying her own patterns and making letter shapes with the bolts. I think the handheld drill is great with it's forward and reverse function, really helping my son with his motor skills. My son loved holding this and really felt in control of the designs using his own little power tool!I like that it's highly durable with chunky pieces and was impressed by the amount of design cards that came with it. There are 10 large wipeable double sided cards giving you 20 designs to copy, such as simple patterns to harder picture images such as a boat, house, flower, butterfly etc.I'd definitely recommend this as a quality, educational and fun toy that would make a perfect gift for a young child. I'd suggest to get the most value out of it, the best age range is 3-5 years, although older children will still play with it.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great fun but loud drill
About Me Mum of 3
The design and drill is just that, you create a design and then you drill the screws in. It is a colourful toy and with ten included activity cards it provides a great starting point for creating your own designs. The tray and screws are very durable and made of strong plastic. The tools included allow more than one person to play at once and allow development of different skills. The only down points are the drill noise is quite loud and one you have take everything out of the box there is no storage for the tray, accessories or screws. The box in only cardboard and everything doesn't go back in easily once it had been taken out. Some sort of bag to store everything once opened would help to ensure parts aren't lose, especially in a school environment.
Educational Tools (Literally)

My son loves this more "grown-up" drill with different attachments that work with the bolts. He creates patterns, pictures, and replicates the included designs. It is a little noisy, so being a teacher I probably wouldn't put this in my classroom. But at home it is just fine. My son doesn't normally like toys with batteries, but this one is the exception because he is still able to create.

The product helps children to develop hand eye co-ordination, fine motor skills and colour recognition. It has also encouraged the children to attempt sequencing by using the copy cards
