It's has real-life application and is a learning classic that meets the needs of a variety of learners. By far the best purchase I've made all year!

The Letter Box Activity Set by Learning Resources has been a wonderful addition to my home school classroom. Both my four year old daughter and nearly two year old son have greatly benefited in learning ABC's, letter sounds, and words through this set! And any parent or teacher knows that it really helps when your children are engaged and interested in the way they are being taught. Each child learns a little differently that's why I am huge fan of educational sets that are working outside of the box. The Letter Box Activity set is a tool that you can freely customize to work however you need and I just love it for that. The Letter Activity Set is pretty neat! It's shaped like a post office box and I just have to state, "How awesome is that?". I know I love getting mail but when my kids receive mail of any kind it's just that much more special. And anytime we use this set it's often a surprise as to what they'll find in the mail box slot next. In this set, you'll find 104 double-sided alphabet cards with real-life photos and 13 double-sided letter cards (plus 8 blanks for whatever you desire to use those for). There's a helpful activity guide to point you in a direction or two on how you could use this set if you were needing a little inspiration. The mailbox piece of the set itself has magnets on the back so you can easily place it on a white board or on the fridge. There's also a handy storage pocket on the reverse side of the mailbox to keep up with all the cards and envelope shaped letter cards. One of the activities I like to do with my four year old is to have her look at pictures and tell me what she sees. Once she's done that, I have her sound out the letters in the word without looking at the actual word to determine what letter each of the pictures I have given her start with! This is a great game we like to play to help her with her early reading skills since she's already past letter recognition and phonic sounds. And for my son, I've been doing this also since he already knows what letter is what. He's also pretty close to knowing all the letter sounds too. This is set is helping me be creative in how I am aiming to help expand their language art skills. Having a letter of the week has also been going over really well too.Overall, I would highly recommend the Letter Box Activity Set. The possibilities are endless in how you could use this set! I even see myself probably using it in the years to come to help with spelling exercises and much more. The endless uses, the uniqueness, and durability alone make this product well worth investing in for your home or classroom use.

This set is perfect for little ones just learning the alphabet and for older children who are beginning to do more with letters and words. The "mail" theme is fun and engaging and my son just loved it. The cards and 'mailbox' are durable and well-made. Perfect for home and the classroom, I would recommend this to parents and teachers alike!*I received this product free for review. I was NOT required to post a positive review. Introduce Letters, Sounds, and Words!

The Letter Box Activity Set is a fun (and easy!) way to either introduce the letters of the alphabet to your kids, or to expand on their pre-existing alphabet knowledge. The set includes a magnetic mail box, that I was able to stick right to my front door, 104 word cards (with a real-life photograph on the front, and the word on the back), and 13 double-sided letter cards. There are a ton of ways you can use this incredible learning activity set with your children or students, and you don't need your teaching degree to implement this into your playtime.1. Have your child make predictions about the word cards they might see hiding in the letter box. (Can you think of some words that start with Y?)2. Flip the picture cards over, and talk about the words. Mix the cards up, and have your child see if they can find the word you say. (Talk about beginning, middle, and ending sounds when you do this activity!!)3. Have your child suggest a few more words that could be in the letter box for the given letter. (I had my four year old draw a picture of y words, and my six year old wrote a list.)4. Talk about the pictures. This activity set is a great way to expand your child's vocabulary! Discuss new words, and have your child use familiar words in a sentence.*I received this product in exchange for an honest review.

My boys (4 and 5) are just learning their letters and spelling and I have been looking for something I could hang up on the wall that would appeal to both of them. The Letter Box Activity Set from Learning Resources is a product that really is versatile for young kids. It features a heavy duty vinyl chart that clings onto a magnetic surface (or you could hang it via holes) and then opens to display the Letter of the Day and flash cards associated with that letter. Now I will say when I read the description for this product I didn't catch that it needed to go on a dry-erase board surface as the spot where you write the letters is open. So I went to my local [@] and was able to buy a perfect sized dry-erase board for about $8 and I then stuck the Letter Box right onto it. I love using this board as a "Letter of the Day" teaching tool. My boys pick a letter and then we find the flash cards that associate with the letter. There are even eight blank cards that you can use the dry erase marker on and dry your own cards. My boys are having a blast with this board and it is such a simple product that both my preschooler and kindergartener can appreciate. This would be perfect for a teacher too, but honestly as a parent I think it is in-valuable too! My boys are excited every morning to pick a letter and then we work on that letter all day. So once again, the Letter Box is an awesome product that we love, but do keep in mind it needs a dry erase surface purchased (or attached to) separately to write the letters on. Oh and the other suggestion I would make is that it doesn't have anywhere to store the extra cards which would have been nice, so we have them all in a zippered pouch on the shelf next to it. I would recommend this product for anyone.

Great for learning words & letter sounds
from Racine, WI
This letter box has so many great features and my son is LOVING learning his letters from his new Letter Box! Since he is younger, I make a Letter of the Week for him to learn. For older children, you can give them a Letter of the Day!My son loves that it is in a shape of a mailbox and he loves to open the mail "slot" to reveal the whiteboard, letter of the week, and display pockets. The letters are also in the mail theme and look like letters with stamps on them! It makes it even more fun for my son to learn because he feels like he is getting mail! :)The objects on the cards are big and colorful and my son loves to tell me what each one is! He can identify the letters on the opposite side and someday he can work on reading them and work on the sounds! The chart is easy to hang because it is magnetic but it can also be hung with nails. It also features reverse storage pocket and measures 24"H x 18"L.If you are looking for a fun way to teach your children letters, sounds, and words, then make sure to try out the this fun Letter Box Activity Set from Learning Resources! Your children will love opening up the mailbox each day and seeing the letter of the day!

Fun and Educational
By Gumma's Place

With a child with autism grasping sound and letter association is a struggle. With this tool we can take a letter of the alphabet and associate the two groups together. There are many toys on the market that do this as well but most of them make noise and for my child this is sensory overload. This learning tool is simple to use for the parent and the child without being too much. The letter box is the perfect balance of being fun and educational without going over the top and distracting my child with too many bell and whistles.

This has been a great tool in helping to prepare my daughter for Kindergarten. It not only makes an excellent home learning tool but would be great for the classroom as well.
