Easy to use more fun than flash cards

Comments about Minute Math Electronic Flash Card™:
This is easy to use and a fun way for my son to practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. I read neg comments before buying, but decided to buy it anyway. I do not understand why they say it is hard to use. We didn't even need the directions to figure this one out. A great find for us as homeschoolers. This is a great way for your student to practice math facts. After homeschooling 4 kids, I wanted something more fun than the typical flash cards and this is it.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Difficult to Use
from Morgantown, West Virginia
About Me First Time Parent
I have an MBA from an Ivy League school and I found this almost impossible to use. I can't imagine how children could or would ever use it. I strongly recommend it be taken off the market. The user instructions are not at all helpful. I discarded it before frustrating my child with it. I have not been compensated for this review and I'm not going to bother asking for a refund.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Pass on this item
from Brea, Ca
About Me Grandparent
The designer must be a smart person in their own private world. The item is smart. The item controls are poor in their application. Designer's children would not be able to use this toy and neither would my grand children. If the toy is not being used, than it defeats the purpose of the application it is designed for. I wish I had a gift receipt to return it. Difficult to access all the different options from an adult stand point. Little children who are age appropriate would not be able to access those options. Very poor design by a very smart designer. Unfortunately management should have realized that before bring it to market.

Thirty Five years ago I bought this type

About Me Education Oriented, Engineer Stem Educator, Grandparent
Two of my kids learned their math facts so well, that math came easy to them. I searched for a similar product and this "Minute Math" was suggested. I liked it immediately and would have gladly paid twice the asking price. It is intuitive, Kindergartners easily figure out the app. There are no instructions. Just select the level you want to try and listen for the "ready set go" tones. You get one minute to try as many problems as you can answer. It then presents how many right out of how many attempted. I gave the one I bought to my oldest Grandson along with $5.00 to his Dad - to be given to my Grandson when he achieves 20 correct on level 3.I do not care how many he tries, or how long it takes him - each "quiz" lasts only one minute. When he is done and earned his prize, he will know his add / sub facts and will probably be hooked on the devise to learn his mult /div facts. It is simply the very best devise available today to learn "the Facts, Ma'm, just the Facts, please!" to paraphrase SGT. Friday. I purchased mine from a specialty store and am about to but the second one here, on-line!

Great Product to Teach Math in FUn Way
By Lisa W
About Me Parent Of Two Or More Children
I love it when I find fun and different ways to help my children learn. My kids love anything that is interactive and electronic when it comes to learning. I received a Minute Math Electronic Flash Card from Learning Resources. This is a great way to practice math facts anywhere. Minute Math makes math fun. It can be used to challenge your child on math facts. It can also be done as a game. There are a series of math questions that pop up and your child has to plug in the missing number. I had to try it myself and it really is fun. I love that as your child continues to learn you can adjust the level up higher. This is a great learning toy that can grow with them. It is suggested for children in first grade and up. I definitely think it's appropriate for that age as you can set it on the subtraction/addition setting and put it on level 1. However, if you have an older child you can also use it to challenge them on their multiplication and division. Sample received for free for my blog review.

Fun and Educational
By Between the Lines
Thursday, December 29, 2011Learning Resources Review and GiveawayDo your kids love learning as much as mine? Do you have trouble finding toys and games that are educational, yet fun at the same time? Learning resources "is a leading manufacturer of innovative, hands-on educational materials for classrooms and learning toys for the home. For more than 25 years, the company has been a trusted source for educators and parents for quality, award-winning educational products." Just visit their easy to navigate website and you will be amazed at how many wonderful products that your child would be interested in and benefit from. Now I don't usually like to brag about my kids (5 and 7), but they are extremely smart. They are both several grade levels ahead in reading, writing, and spelling. However, I will be the first to admit that they both could use a little extra help when it comes to math. For as smart as they are, they both seem to have a hard time with their simple math facts. They can figure out longer problems that include basic math facts, but it takes them a long time. As a mother and a teacher, I feel that it is important that kids know their basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division math facts. I also think they should learn them so that they can answer without hesitation. The Minute Math Electronic Flash Card is helping them both reach that goal. This fun little math game, encourages them to practice daily. It even has them challenging themselves to beat their best score. So far my 7 year old has received 13 out of 13 correct in one minute. She has now set a new goal to get 15 out of 15.
