Great Fun for Any Preschooler!

Comments about Preschool Pop Games Bundle:

The Preschool Pop Game Bundle by Learning Resources is a creative and colorful set of learning games fashioned to look like a container of bubbles. This bundle promotes skills that are taught in preschool as well as in Kindergarten. The four separate games included feature colors, counting, rhyming, and shapes. Though this set says preschool, it's geared and recommended toward children ages 3-6 years old.

The games individually have 80 cards and a spinner for taking turns and grabbing 1-3 bubble cards. Everything can be contained neatly in each box that features a pretty snug fitting lid. There's a even a little zip type plastic baggy included in each box to keep the pieces together within the inner compartment of the box. There's no need to keep up with the instructions as those are displayed on the side of each box.

How the game works is that each player must attempt to have either 10 pieces if attempting the level 1 suggestion or the level 2 which is played till all the bubble cards have been emptied from container. You earn the bubble pieces by correctly answering what is seen on the bubble card. When you draw a POP! card, you return all the cards you've gained back to the box.

I have played both the level 1 and level 2 options of each of the games with my nearly 3 year old son and my 5 year old daughter. We've also been using the pieces for other preschool and kindergarten practice too. The pieces as durable as they are make for some great circular flash cards! We've used the pieces for story prompts adding to a story by the chance of whatever bubble card we draw next. It's been great fun!

Overall the bundle is a nice set that will help grow your child's knowledge in those crucial skill needed to know for kindergarten whether you just play the game or if you mix things up a bit like we did.

Comments about Preschool Pop Games Bundle:

The Preschool Pop Games Bundle is a set of 4 different, but similar games (colors, shapes, counting, and rhyming). Each game has the same rules, but a different learning objective. These are all 4 simple fast pace games. Each game comes in its own canister filled with 80 small cardboard pieces that relates to the learning subject and pieces with the word pop on them. The games are all simple. The players take turns spinning the spinner and depending on which number they land on they will pull that many cards from the canister. They would then identify what picture is on each card and put them in their pile. If the player pulls a Pop card then they lose all their collected cards. The player with the most cards at the end wins.

I feel like these games are helping my son to be ready when Kindergarten starts. The cards are sturdy and will last a long time. The canisters are not to large and easily store everything in one place. This is another great learning bundle from Learning Resources that will help my child be ready for and succeed in school.

Comments about Preschool Pop Games Bundle:

The pieces are so durable (even for toddlers)! This game is fun for all ages and makes learning exciting. Colors and Shapes seemed to work best for ages 2-3 and Rhyming and Counting were perfect for 3 -5 year olds.

      Learn Those Fundamental Preschool Skills

Comments about Preschool Pop Games Bundle:

My understanding of the Pop Games bundle from Learning Resources was a little sketchy at first because it took me 15 minutes to find the real instructions located under the removable label of the cylinder. Neither the website nor the outer label say anything as to where the instructions are located and I had a bunch of questions when first trying to play this game with my daughter. My first recommendation would be to print this information prominently on the outer packaging of the game or at least give a hint that the full instructions are located under the outer label.

Once the instructions were found, the real fun began! Basically, there are two levels of play to the Pop Games bundle depending on the skill level of your child. In both levels of the game, you must spin the spinner to find out whether to take 1, 2 or 3 bubble cards from the jar. In the rhyming edition, you say the name of the object on the card and then say a word that rhymes with it. For instance, if you have a picture of a hat, then you should say something like cat or rat.

In the colors edition, you draw out a bubble card and then say the name of the color and the object on each card. For instance, an apple is red. In the shapes edition, simply say the object and the name of the shape on the card and in the counting edition, the child should say the number represented on the card. Each edition contains 80 full color, double-sided cards so that there is plenty of variety available.

If the child answers correctly, they get to keep the bubble card, but if they answer incorrectly, the card goes into a separate pile outside of the bubble jar. Of course, there's a twist to this game. There are several POP cards located inside the bubble jar. If one of these is drawn, ALL bubble cards earned must be placed back in the jar and the POP card removed from play.

I love games which have a "go back to start" twist to them since no one is ever truly winning until the game is actually over. I've lost so many times to Riley in games like this and she squeals with delight when suddenly she comes from behind and wins. It also teaches her to be a graceful loser too when the POP card manages to snag defeat from the jaws of victory.

In level one, whoever obtains 10 bubble cards first is the winner, whereas in level two, a winner is declared after all the bubble cards have been played from the jar. Whoever has the most correct bubble cards wins the game.

Although the Preschool Pop Games Bundle is recommended for children ages 3 to 6 years old, in my opinion, the Colors and Counting editions probably won't be relevant for children over the ages of 4. My daughter is 4 years old and is already tiring of these two games because they're too easy for her. She loves the Shapes and Rhyming editions however and I feel like these will continue to challenge her skills for years to come.
