Comments about Sentence Buildings:
I received this product to review and was highly impressed. The buildings and cards are very durable and will last for years. It is worth every penny you pay for it! It is especially good for those kids who just have a hard time connecting the dots or can't seem to sit still enough to learn. This keeps them moving in a very visual method to learn and strengthen their understanding of the parts of speech.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Sentence Buildings make grammar fun!
from Southwest Missouri
Sentence Buildings takes learning parts of speech and put a spin on it that makes it fun and entertaining for children. Instead of drab, boring grammar lessons, these make it something original and unique to take away the monotany. Because you can use as many or few of the buildings as you want, these can literally be used for the same child for years as they learn more and more about sentence structure. Plus its well-made, like all their products, and is sure last a long time with proper care.Learning Resources provided a free product sample to facilitate this review. Making Parts of Speech Fun!
By The Organized Classroom Blog
I reviewed this product for Learning Resources on The Organized Classroom Blog. When you receive the box, it comes with 9 plastic buildings (noun, verb, adjective, pronoun, article, conjunction, adverb, preposition, and punctuation). Each building has a catchy name, like Noun Tower or Pronoun Place, and has a lid that easily comes on and off. The box also includes 300 double-sided word cards, including 15 blanks that can be customized with a wet-erase marker. The only assembly was to place the stickers on the front of the correct plastic building, but they were also color-coded, so it made it a snap. The best part? All the small 300 cards were already punched out and ready in a baggie (every busy teacher knows this is a HUGE help)! There are so many ways this activity could be used, such as for a center, small group, independent study, indoor recess, or a reward party. Great fun for all K-8!
Great to start with!

Sentence Buildings is a great set for kids learning their words and how to piece their sentences together. The set includes nine buildings featuring different parts of speech and then 300 Double sided-words cards. The different word cards then correspond with the different buildings. For example, there are the words "Money" "You" "The" and so forth and you have to put them in the right plastic building! This set really has so many possibilities for use. There are five Suggested Activities included which are perfect to get going with your kids! • Simple Sentences (use a pronoun, verb, noun and punctuation)• Exciting Sentences (create a Simple Sentence but add an adjective to see how it changes.)• Follow the Recipe (work with a small group to make a sentence together)• Parts of Speech Match (put all the cards in the pile and match parts of speech.)• Main Street Mix-Up (Pick a card from each building and make a sentence.)Since Aidan is just 5 years old, we are working on what the words are and how they match together with the buildings. I am also working on sentences with him as he is a lazy speaker and drops pronouns and prepositions. For example, he says things like "Me go" or "I want trucks." I think this set will be perfect for growing with him and I hope to get him in line or past his peers. I remember struggling with different words and where they belonged and Sentence Buildings makes it fun! The plastic buildings have lids and the corresponding words fit inside them for easy clean-up and storage. There really is nothing I would change.
Have Fun with Sentence Buildings

As an adult we don't realize all that we take for granted. We were all taught how to write and diagram a sentence. I am sure we are familiar with the different part of speech and what role they play in sentence structure. But, I am equally as sure that we forget!Yep, I bet the last time someone asked you what a proper noun was or to explain a homophone…you probably just stared at them.I know I do…and I am a home school teacher!! It's not easy to remember the answers…and we are ADULTS!So let's give our little ones a little slack and help them to realize that language arts and sentence building can be fun. It's a great way for them to learn, memorize and understand all the different parts of a sentence and how they are intended to be used.Learning Resources never fails in making learning fun and being a great resource to teachers and parents alike. The Sentence Building set uses different parts of speech like nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns, conjunctions, articles, prepositions, adverbs, and punctuation to make a fun sentence and even funner structure of buildings.Seeing my girls laugh and smile while learning is blessing beyond words….school doesn't have to be all work and tests…it can be a day full of enjoyment too.
Some aspects great, others need work

Useful with 1:1 or small groups. Helps identify individual components and how to expand sentences. Really needs a wider range of adverbs - they're mainly of time and place.
A Great Tool For Kids
By Mommy Katie

Like many other children out there that are in grade school and are learning how to write, my daughter needs a little help building her skills. This can be a very hard thing for kids to learn, it doesnt always come together like the teachers at school plan on them coming together for every kid, so to help your child succeed, you as a parent can find resources to help your kids succeed. My daughter has trouble with her sentence building. She can put sentences together just fine when she is speaking, but building sentences and putting them down on paper is a whole other story. I know that when I am looking for ways to help my kids with their academic skills. I look for fun ways to improve their skills and I have found that games that help with building their skills, not only help but make the learning fun at the same time. Recently I was sent the Sentence Buildings from Learning Resources. This is one of those games that I find to be genius. My mom is a English teacher, and when she first started teaching she started with elementary school. She is also a drama teacher and I loved the way she would incorporate improv with learning to make the learning process fun for the kids. This game reminds me of the games my mom used to create when she would teach the same sentence building skills to her students. This game includes all of the parts of speech that are needed for the building of sentences. This game includes nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns, conjunctions, articles, prepositions, adverbs, and punctuation. Your kids can use a few of the buildings or as many as they want to build sentences. I also love that my daughter can play this game either with, me, her friends or by herself. So whether you are looking to help your kids build their sentence building skills or improve their sentence building skills then get them the Sentence Buildings!! Also check out the other great games and toys you can get for your kids over at Learning Resources.
