Great Language Builder

About Me speech therapist
Great toy, use with ages 18 months to 6 years of age. I am a speech therapist, I use it to teach colors and concepts (in, out, on, under). I use it with expressive and receptive language. You can hide the inside pieces and then put them where they belong. Pretend to have stuffed animals eat them. So many uses for this and it is simple, compact, easy to take with me on homevisits.
Color Learning Fun

Teaching children about colors can be fun with the Smart Snacks Peek-a-Boo Color Muffins from Learning Resources! This particular set has been great fun to use with my four and 1/2 year old daughter and my nearly two year old son. The possibilities of ways to incorporate different concepts and aspects in educating my children have been endless thanks to this well thought out kid appealing product. The Smart Snacks Peek-a-Boo Color Muffin set comes with 5 durable plastic 3-piece muffins that store in handy rotating stand which messures 4.5"H x 7" in diameter. The colors of the muffin bottoms covered in this set are red, orange, yellow, green, and blue. Inside each muffin is a piece of fruit that matches the color of the corresponding muffin liner bottom, for example there are red cherries, a yellow slice lemon, blue blueberries, and so on. You can mix and match them however you so choose. The set is fantastic is helping reinforce color recognition! Children can play with this set in many ways. They can match the fruit filling to the colored cups. You could also let your children use the set when playing in their toy kitchens pr hosting pretend tea parties. For younger children, they might even enjoy a game of peek-a-boo. The muffin lids can be put on and taken off easily and that's much appreciated for little ones that can sometimes get discouraged or upset if having a problem attaching or detaching lids or parts of any kind.My son is turning two years old in a couple of weeks and I've been using this set with him daily. I'm pretty sure my son is starting to understand his colors a bit better just from our time spent with this. Sometimes I'll ask him to find other things around the house that are blue and he'll bring them to me.For example, I had a blue muffin out with the set and asked him to find something else blue, he in turn brought me his blue train toy. Though if I ask him what color the muffin is he'll say the name of his train instead of the actual color. We'll get there eventually and I believe this set will help tangibly and visually quite a bit. He loves when I bring the muffins out to play.My daughter whom is four already knows all her colors. She likes playing with this set when hosting her pretend tea and dessert parties. I can vouch with the use and play from both of my children, this set has held up exceptionally well. We've managed not to misplace anything in the set either. The muffins lids that snap to the bottoms and the stand has seen to that. These features are absolutely essential to any set making it great for storing when not in play.Overall, I highly recommend Learning Resources Smart Snacks Peek-a-Boo Color Muffins! It's great for color recognition, pretend play, and whatever else you can think up in having fun or teaching a child.

This muffin set has so many uses, especially for creative kids! It I initially for teaching kids their colors by matching the fruit with the same colored muffin bottoms. You can also then teach them about the five different fruits. Count with them, mix them up and play games with them, use them in a play kitchen, the possibilities are endless! After matching them up, my boys like to snap them all together and use them in their play kitchen (we now eat a lot of muffins!) All the muffins snap closed and can be stored in a nice rotating stand. The pieces are durable and my boys can close up and open the muffins all on their own.
