Comments about Learning Resources Measuring Motors™:
What I really love about this set is that it's great for younger children, like my son, but it will really grow with him, allowing for learning more about standard measurement. For now, at three, he is learning colors, sorting, patterns and basic measurement concepts. As with all of our many Learning Resources sets, the quality and durability of the cars and tracks are great. I know this set will be a favorite for a long time to come! * I received a sample of this product to facilitate my honest and candid review.

Fantastic Hands-on for Math!
About Me Education Oriented, Stay At Home Parent
I reviewed Measuring Motors on my blog and LOVE it! It's extremely simple, VERY brightly colored, and highly durable. Most all kids love cars and this cute set is a fabulous way to work on math skills interactively. There are PLENTY of cars in the set. Our kindergarten teacher was just thrilled to have this for her classroom.

They are accurate measurements, as shown below, so can be used for measuring in a fun way. They are great for patterns and sorting too. A fabulous hands on tool for so many early math skills. I was given this product to review on my blog.

Very Versatile Teaching Set
By My Four Monkeys
from Richmond, VA
The Measuring Motors teaching set has really improved my seven-year-old's understanding of measurements and how they relate to each other. Sometimes a child can have a difficult time visualizing how measurements relate to each other. Is an inch larger or smaller than a yard? A foot? And while they may know the right answer, being able to visualize these measurements in real life can help them not only retain the information, but understand why. The Measuring Motors set comes complete with 4 interlocking road track pieces, and 88 durable, chunky plastic cars in varying sizes and colors. I really love how the track pieces are marked in 1" increments showing how each car is a certain number of inches. The cars sizes are in 1, 2, and 3 inch increments. Teaching measurements, comparisons, and number stories is easier than ever with Measuring Motors! This set can also be used for sorting, color practice, and teaching patterns. The bright colors and chunky pieces makes it fun and easy to use for little hands. My three-year-old enjoys playing with Measuring Motors like any car/track set and it gives me a chance to work on his colors and patterns. This set is so versatile and great for a variety of ages and concepts!*I received this product free of charge for the purpose of my review.*
Turns Math Into a Roadway Adventure
By Melissa ~ Mommy Living the Life of Riley
from Houston, TX
There are a ton of activities to get your child's motor revving, but since Riley doesn't quite meet the recommended age of 4 to 8 years old, I decided to let her explore on her own, with a little occasional facilitation from me. I was really impressed at how much she enjoyed lining these colorful cars up along the track! It also didn't take her long to discover that some of these cars were shorter than others, but if you combined them just right, the lengths would match.Although it's not mentioned on their site, I think this toy is a wonderful tool for teaching fractions to children as well. For instance, when Riley noticed that three of the small cars equaled the length of one of the large cars, I explained that the short car was 1/3 the size of the large one. It helped so much having a great visual there to teach the difficult concept of fractions...especially to a 3-year-old, but I honestly think Riley understood. I'm also trying to show her the beginnings of measuring something by lining up the front of the object with the first yellow tick mark and counting the spaces between tick marks to get a standard measurement. The best part is, Riley is actually having a blast learning her new math skills with the Measuring Motors set. There's just something about incorporating a great deal of brightly-colored plastic cars into the mix that makes anything more fun to learn! If you have a preschooler that could benefit from a little guided math practice, then by all means test drive the new Measuring Motors Math Activity Set from Learning Resources!
My Little Boy Loves This
By Dragonfly Sweetnest
from South Webster, OH
My little boy went absolutely nuts when he saw this on the kitchen table as he got home from school. So of course, with all of the excitement, I had to open it. I was really shocked with all of the cars. There are so many and with four different bold colors and three sizes they are visually appealing to adults, and stimulating to children. The cars are very durable, you don't have to worry about them getting broken in anyway. There are also 4 sections of road that can be put together to run the cars on.I love that these cars can be used to teach your little one how to sort by colors or by size. Also you can teach them how to do a pattern like blue, yellow, red, blue, yellow, red and so on. You can also use the cars to do a little adding and subtracting, as well as measurements. I am really surprised that I was able to keep my little boys attention for so long. He is really hyper so having something that really works towards his interest and he learns makes me one happy mom. These sets were what we used to look forward to using in grade school, and this is brought to you by the same company that supplied the schools all those years ago, and continues to do so today. High quality educational fun, with a kick of nostalgia thrown in, you gotta love that.
