Comments about Teaching Cash Register with Canadian Currency:

Love the concept of this cash register. The part that i'm most upset with it is, when ordering the Canadian currency the $1.00 and $2.00 coins wont fit into the coin slot.
Why sell something with the currency when part of it won't work?

Comments about Teaching Cash Register with Canadian Currency:

The kids are having a great time with this toy. The coins and dollars are everywhere! Unfortunately, all of the cool, educational things that one would buy the toy for aren't functioning due to the "cash drawer open" issue. We cannot even turn off the unit. It won't turn off without pushing in the drawer. Once you stop pushing the drawer closed, it opens a smidge and turns the cash register on again. The issue doesn't affect the fun, just the learning but I don't find the value for price just for the fun.

Comments about Teaching Cash Register with Canadian Currency:

My grandson loves to play with money and a cash register. I was very excited to find this. I put batteries in it to be sure it came on. What a disappointment Christmas morning when he went to play with it and all it does is say the cash drawer is open. No matter how many times I reset it and take the batteries in and out, it still will not work.

Comments about Teaching Cash Register with Canadian Currency:

The cash register is fun and easy to use. It is a quality toy, and is very durable. My son will spend hours playing with it. I love that it is great for young kids who are learning about what money is to older kids who are learning more about money management and handling.

My son received this as a gift when he was too young to use it so I put it away for a while. Now that he is old enough, I found out it doesn't work properly. It constantly says, "Cash box open" when it is not open. When the cash box is open the toy will not calculate. It's a real nice idea, mine just doesn't work.

Comments about Teaching Cash Register with Canadian Currency:

This is a really fun instructional toy. It is realistic and is engaging.

There is a problem with the drawer hitch though. Yes, the drawer will close, so it seems everything is fine, but once you put batteries in it, you will notice the real problem. It doesn't latch tight enough, so the digital display and the instructional programs won't actually run because it wants you to close the drawer. You have to hold it in to make it work. My sister in law had the same problem. The company replaced hers, and they have been providing good service to me so far, but I suspect the replacement set will have the same problem.

Too bad, because it is pretty cool.

I would recommend it, but be sure to open it, test it (with batteries) to be sure it works before giving it to your kid.
